Machine Tools & Automation Cells
Sealed, fanless computers for CNC and motion control, operator HMIs, machine vision, and cell controllers — built to run from cabinet power beside the spindle, and to stay available for the life of the machine.
- CNC & motion-control hosts
- HMI / operator panels
- Machine vision & inspection
- PLC & fieldbus gateways
- Cell controllers & edge gateways
- Legacy machine retrofits
The Challenge: The Cell Is Hostile to a PC
A machine tool or automation cell is one of the hardest places to keep a computer alive. The controller that runs it has to survive what the machine produces — and outlast the machine's own service life.
- Coolant mist, oil, and chips. Fans pull dust, oil mist, and coolant vapor through electronics, and a clogged filter is a service ticket.
- Vibration and shock. Spindles, presses, and robots shake everything bolted to the frame or mounted in the cabinet.
- Cabinet heat and cold starts. Sealed enclosures trap heat; unheated ends of the plant see the other extreme.
- Cabinet power, not a wall outlet. The PC should run from the same 24 V control power as the relays and PLC.
- Add-in cards. Motion, frame-grabber, and fieldbus cards still need real PCI/PCIe slots, and older machines need ISA or PCI slots that consumer boards dropped.
- The machine outlives the PC. A controller qualified with the machine must stay purchasable — or have a form-fit-function path — years later.
The ADEK Solution: Sealed, Cabinet-Powered, Long-Life
ADEK configures Cincoze and ARBOR platforms — and our own chassis for slot-based systems — to the cell, and backs them with lifecycle management so the system you qualify today is the one you can buy later.
- Fanless, conduction-cooled boxes. Extruded-aluminum enclosures with no fans and no filters. Featured models are rated up to -40°C to 70°C (with wide-temperature storage/memory and ambient airflow), with MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration rated options.
- 9–48 VDC input with over/reverse-voltage protection, so the controller wires straight to 12 V or 24 V cabinet power.
- DIN rail, VESA, or wall mounting — the computer clips into the same enclosure real estate as the PLC and relays.
- Machine I/O on the box. RS-232/422/485 serial, GbE and 2.5GbE LAN, and isolated 4-in/4-out digital I/O (built into the DE-1000, or added with optional CMI modules on the DC-1200) for PLC, drive, and sensor links.
- Expansion for the cards you already use. Up to two PCI/PCIe slots on the DS-1501/1502, modular CMI/CFM I/O, and M.2 / Mini-PCIe sockets — plus PICMG backplane systems for ISA/PCI-slot retrofits.
- Operator HMIs with IP66-sealed fronts. 15.6" to 21.5" panel PCs with PCAP multi-touch or glove-friendly resistive touch for the machine door.
- GPU inspection at the line. Compact MXM 3.1 GPU computers (NVIDIA RTX modules) for multi-camera inspection and deep-learning defect detection beside the machine.
- Configured before it ships. Memory, storage, OS image, and expansion matched to your requirements, with OEM and volume programs available.
