EN 50155 is the standard for electronic equipment on rolling stock. It covers what a train actually does to a computer: temperature extremes and rapid cycling, humidity, shock and vibration, and the fluctuations and interruptions of vehicle battery power.

Every model on this page carries EN 50155 together with EN 50121-3-2, the railway EMC standard. The DX-1100 adds EN 45545-2 fire and smoke compliance and passes the EN 50155 dry heat thermal test at 85°C for 10 minutes.

Fanless by Design, Tested for Vibration

Fans pull in dust and fail under constant vibration, so these systems cool through a solid extruded-aluminum chassis instead.

The DX-1100 is rated for 50 Grms shock and 5 Grms vibration. The DI-1200 and DV-1100 are tested to MIL-STD-810H, the DS-1300 to MIL-STD-810G. All four accept 9–48 VDC with over-voltage, over-current, and reverse-power protection.

What does EN 50155 certification cover?
EN 50155 is the European standard for electronic equipment installed on rolling stock. It sets requirements for operating temperature ranges and rapid temperature cycling, humidity, shock and vibration, and tolerance of the supply-voltage fluctuations and interruptions found on vehicle power systems. Equipment is tested against these conditions rather than just rated on paper.
What is EN 45545-2, and when do I need it?
EN 45545-2 is the railway fire-protection standard covering the fire behavior of materials used in rail vehicles — how they ignite, spread flame, and emit smoke and fumes. Many passenger rolling-stock projects require it for equipment installed in the vehicle. On this page, the DX-1100 carries EN 45545-2 alongside EN 50155.
Can these computers run from train battery power?
All four models accept 9–48 VDC input with over-voltage, over-current, and reverse-power protection built in. Tell us the nominal voltage of your fleet's power system in your quote request and an engineer will confirm the right power configuration for your installation.
How does a fanless computer handle -40°C to 70°C?
The extruded-aluminum chassis acts as one large heatsink, moving heat from the CPU to the outer surface without a fan or forced airflow, and the designs use extended-temperature-rated components. The rating depends on CPU TDP: the DI-1200-i5 holds -40°C to 70°C at 100% CPU load, while socketed models like the DX-1100 and DS-1300 carry the full range at 35 W TDP.
