Vehicle electrical systems sag during cranking and cut out at key-off. Ignition power sensing monitors the ignition signal — 12V or 24V selectable — so the computer powers on with the vehicle and shuts down cleanly instead of dying mid-write.

What does power ignition sensing actually do?
It monitors the vehicle ignition signal (12V or 24V selectable) so the computer powers on when the vehicle starts and shuts down cleanly after key-off instead of losing power mid-write. On the DE-1000, ignition sensing is built in; on the DC-1200-N42, DI-1100-i5, and DV-1100 it is added with an optional CFM module, and the DI-1100 version includes delay time management for staged power-on and shutdown.
Can these computers run on both 12 V and 24 V vehicles?
Yes. All four featured models accept 9–48 VDC input, which covers both 12 V cars and vans and 24 V trucks and buses, and ignition sensing handles 12V/24V across the line (selectable on the CFM-module models). The DC-1200-N42, DI-1100-i5, and DV-1100 also add over-voltage, over-current, and reverse power protection.
What is the difference between E-Mark and EN 50155?
E-Mark is the European approval for electronic equipment installed in road vehicles, while EN 50155 covers electronics on railway rolling stock, including temperature, vibration, and power-supply requirements. The DC-1200-N42, DI-1100-i5, and DV-1100 carry E-Mark for road use; the DE-1000, DI-1100-i5, and DV-1100 also carry EN 50155 for rail projects.
How do fanless computers handle road vibration?
There are no fans or moving parts to shake loose — heat conducts out through the extruded-aluminum enclosure. The DE-1000 and DC-1200-N42 are rated for 50 Grms shock and 5 Grms vibration, and the DI-1100-i5 and DV-1100 are tested to MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-810H respectively. Pairing them with solid-state storage such as mSATA, M.2, or a 2.5-inch SSD removes the last moving part.
Can you configure cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity?
Yes — tell us your requirements and we'll configure memory, storage, OS, and expansion to match. The DC-1200-N42, DI-1100-i5, and DV-1100 each include two SIM card slots, with Mini-PCIe or M.2 expansion slots for wireless modules; the DE-1000 has one SIM slot and two Mini-PCIe slots.
