Every system on this page cools by conduction: the extruded-aluminum enclosure is the heatsink, so there is no fan bearing to wear out and no airflow pulling dust through the electronics.

  • DS-1400 and DV-1100: -40°C to 70°C with 35W-TDP processors (with extended-temperature peripherals; ambient with air flow)
  • DS-1500 and DX-1300: -40°C to 60°C at 35W TDP under the same conditions
  • Higher-TDP CPUs carry documented narrower ranges and add an external fan kit — 65W CPUs in the DS-1500 and DX-1300 are rated -40°C to 50°C with the kit installed

Shock and Vibration, Tested to Standard

  • DS-1500, DX-1300, and DV-1100: MIL-STD-810H tested for both shock and vibration
  • DS-1400: MIL-STD-810G tested, with a front-accessible hot-swap 2.5" bay and RAID 0/1/5/10
  • DS-1501 and DS-1502: a patented adjustable card retainer secures PCI/PCIe expansion cards in high-vibration installs

DC Power Built for Vehicles and Plants

All four systems accept 9–48 VDC and protect themselves with over-voltage, over-current, and reverse-power protection. For on-vehicle duty, an optional CFM module adds 12V/24V power ignition sensing — the DS-1500, DX-1300, and DS-1400 versions include delay time management for clean startup and shutdown with the vehicle.

How can a fanless PC run reliably at 70°C?
By conduction cooling: the extruded-aluminum enclosure acts as the heatsink and moves processor heat to the outside surface, so there is no fan bearing to wear out and no airflow pulling dust into the electronics. The DS-1400 and DV-1100 are rated -40°C to 70°C with 35W-TDP processors and extended-temperature peripherals (ambient with air flow); the Core Ultra DS-1500 and DX-1300 are rated -40°C to 60°C on the same terms. Higher-wattage CPU options carry documented narrower ranges and pair with an external fan kit — for example, 65W CPUs in the DS-1500 are rated to 50°C with the kit installed.
What do the MIL-STD-810 shock and vibration ratings actually mean?
MIL-STD-810 is a US military test-method standard. Its shock methods apply short transient pulses — the kind of stress an impact or drop produces — while its vibration methods apply sustained random vibration profiles like those measured on vehicles and machinery, so the two ratings cover different failure modes. The DS-1500, DX-1300, and DV-1100 are tested to revision 810H for both shock and vibration, and the DS-1400 to revision 810G. Specifying M.2 or 2.5" solid-state storage instead of a rotating drive keeps the whole system inside those ratings.
What is the difference between MIL-STD-810 and EN 50155?
MIL-STD-810 is a US military environmental test-method standard; the DS-1500, DX-1300, and DV-1100 are shock and vibration tested to its 810H revision, and the DS-1400 to 810G. EN 50155 is the European standard for electronic equipment on railway rolling stock. The models on this page meet its EMC requirement — EN 50121-3-2 railway EMC — which is why we state the rating as EN 50121-3-2 (per EN 50155) rather than claiming the full clause set. The two standards are complementary rather than interchangeable.
Can these run from vehicle or battery power?
Yes. All four featured models accept 9–48 VDC with over-voltage, over-current, and reverse-power protection, and each supports optional 12V/24V power ignition sensing through a CFM expansion module so the computer starts and shuts down cleanly with the vehicle. The DV-1100 also carries E-Mark vehicle certification.
Which operating systems are supported?
